Over the last four years, we have seen Malia and Sasha Obama develop from little girls into young ladies. During this year’s Democratic National Convention, Malia and Sasha looked truly stunning in their dresses with simple yet elegant jewelry.

theGrio: Where’d the time go? Obama girls now young women

Malia started high school this week and she has gotten rid of her braces. At the 2008 DNC Sasha jumped into her father’s arms but this year it was all about poise for the youngest Obama girl.

The most surprising thing is how tall the two have grown. Malia is almost as tall as both her parents, and Sasha is not far behind.

The only reminder that they were still children was when President Obama teased the girls that they still had to go to school the next day and the camera showed Sasha faking a pout at her father.
