Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

It may be too early to call the reported relationship between ex-NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens and women’s soccer star Hope Solo a ‘saga’.

One thing we can do now, according to reports, is call their relationship a marriage.

The couple reportedly wed Tuesday night, just hours after Stevens appeared in court clad in an orange jumpsuit on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

Steven’s arrest came after an incident at a Washington home early Monday, where Solo, Stevens, Solo’s brother Marcus and other guests gathered for a party. Stevens told police he had had an argument with Solo over where the couple would live after they wed. Solo’s brother Marcus reportedly used a ‘stun gun’ in an unrelated fight with uninvited guests who had caused some sort of disturbance. It was Marcus who reportedly called 911.

Stevens was released from court after a judge determined there wasn’t enough evidence to hold him. The matter is still under investigation. Solo’s attorney Peter Offenbecher maintains Stevens did not “assault” his client, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Sports radio host Dave Mahler tweeted that he had “confirmed” Stevens and Solo were married Tuesday night:

Mahler hosts the ‘Dave Softy Mahler’ show weekdays on Seattle-based KJR.

Jillian Loyden, an alternate goalie for the U.S. women’s national team, also seemed to confirm the news on Twitter:
