Last night Kanye West and Alicia Keys performed during the televised 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

West and Keys joined the Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton in a concert benefiting The Robin Hood Relief Fund to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

West performed a 20-minute set of some of his most popular hits, including “Clique” and “Gold Digger.” But what got the biggest reaction from the crowd was the leather skirt and legging combo that he wore onstage.

Moments into his performance, the parody Twitter account, @KanyesSkirt emerged, and #KanyesSkirt becamse a trending topic.

His girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, took to Twitter to express how she felt about his outfit, “Awwwwwwww I’m so excited right now!!!!! He looks so cute!!” Kim tweeted.

This is not the first time the “Flashing Lights” rapper has rocked a skirt onstage. In 2011, during the Watch the Throne tour with Jay-Z, West wore another leather skirt, a move which also received heavy criticism from the media.
