Ted Nugent’s Gun Country will not be returning to the Discovery Channel.

Despite the musician’s claims that there would be more specials to come, The Huffington Post reports that Gun Country was a one-time special, and no more episodes will be produced.

The Discovery Channel special showcased the right wing rocker and his extensive gun collection.

In a piece written for the Washington Times, Nugent said the show “simply celebrates and promotes the self-evident truth that 99.99 percent of American gun-owning families use our guns on a regular basis for all the right reasons.”

Adding, “The same 99.99 percent of Americans with guns will never use our guns in a crime or for any negative misuse whatsoever.”

The conservative guitarist made headlines earlier this year after stating: “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

Nugent’s anti-Obama attacks continued through the November presidential election.

After the president won reelection this November Nugent tweeted: “Pimps whores & welfare brats & their soulless supporters hav [sic] a president to destroy America.”

He also called Obama a “subhuman varmint” and declared that America had just voted for “economic & spiritual suicide.”

In light of the recent shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, during which twenty children were killed, many media outlets are reviewing and evaluating the programs they are choosing to air.

The premieres of the violent action films Django Unchained and Jack Reacher were both postponed due to the tragedy.

Along with Ted Nugent’s Gun Country, the Discovery Channel has also decided to cancel American Guns, another series dedicated to firearms.
