Original 'Aunt Viv' slams Wendy Williams in an open letter

theGRIO REPORT - Talk show host Wendy Williams has many fans but actress Janet Hubert is not one of them.

Talk show host Wendy Williams has many fans, but actress Janet Hubert is apparently not one of them.

Hubert, who played Aunt Vivian on the hit TV sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, wrote an open letter to Williams after the media mogul had Hubert’s former co-star Tatyana Ali appear as a guest on The Wendy Williams Show.

Williams probed into the reported feud between Hubert and that the show’s star Will Smith during an episode last week, stirring up further interest on the alleged beef between the two.

Hubert has reportedly voiced her displeasure with Smith, calling him an “a**hole” when asked why she wasn’t invited to a Fresh Prince reunion dinner.

“He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word,” she allegedly told TMZ in 2011.

Now her ire is being directed at the outspoken daytime talk show host.

“I’m writing you yet again, to appeal to your sense of womanhood or manhood as some suggest. Please close your mouth about things that you know nothing of,” Hubert wrote to Williams, according to Jezebel. “You are such a demon Wendy. You are wicked, awful, conniving, sinister, spiteful, jealous of every other woman. Simply put, Wendy you are a virus.”

“It seems as though your audience thirsts for the blood of others, as they are prompted to clap and hoop and holler at your shows and wigs and clothes. I just would like to know who died and told you that you were reborn as Oprah. Sister, you will never be another Oprah,” she added.

After being replaced in the role of “Aunt Viv” back in 1993 by Daphne Maxwell Reid, many have speculated about what really caused Hubert’s departure — and Williams was eager to find out.

“Remember all of the drama circulating…we never got the full story, what happened with the first Aunt Viv?” Williams asked Ali during a recent taping of her show.

“The story from my point of view it was really like a divorce when it actually happened,” Ali responded. “There was definitely negativity, like you could feel it, which is amazing to me because we were on a hit show and we really loved each other and laughed every day. I don’t see why there would be tension or what the issue would be.”

TheGrio talked with Ali in January and the actress addressed some of the on-screen and behind-the-scenes drama while filming The Fresh Prince.

“We were really close and we cared for each other, we spent all day together every day,” Ali told theGrio. “So I don’t… does Will have an ego? He was the same person he was the day I met him to now on so I don’t know where that came from, that was not my experience at all.”
