Later this month, the Oprah Winfrey Network will debut two new scripted series written and directed by Tyler Perry.

OWN has released first look images and trailers for Perry’s two new shows, The Have and the Have Nots, and Love Thy Neighbor.

The Haves and the Have Nots

Tika Sumpter, John Schneider, Aaron O’Connell and Crystal Fox star in The Haves and the Have Nots, which follows the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their opulent Savannah, Georgia mansion. The series has been described as Perry’s answer to PBS’ widely successful period drama Downton Abbey.

“The rich get richer, and the poor… they get even,” Perry says during the trailer for The Haves and the Have Nots, which airs Tuesday at 9/8C on OWN, beginning May 28.

Love Thy Neighbor

Perry’s second offering, the situation comedy Love Thy Neighbor, focuses on a middle class family and their daily joys, struggles, triumphs and fumbles. The show is set at The Love Train Diner, a family-run restaurant where every day the menu serves up good food, great laughs, valuable life lessons and a whole lot of love. During a preview clip for Love Thy Neighbor, Oprah describes the series as “not just funny… Tyler Perry funny.”

Love Thy Neighbor premieres on OWN with two back-to-back half-hour episodes Wednesday, May 29 at 9/8C.
