George Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges Saturday, after a trial that lasted over a month.

The jury found Zimmerman not guilty of the second-degree murder charge, as well as a lesser manslaughter charge, in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

The shooting took place in late February of 2012. Zimmerman and his defense attorneys claimed that the 29-year-old acted in self-defense when he shot Martin, and plead not guilty to the original charge of murder in the second-degree.

Zimmerman is free to leave the courtroom.
