NBC Washington – A well-known Virginia basketball coach was arrested Saturday following allegations he sexually assaulted one of his athletes. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is working to determine if there are any additional victims.

Marlow Mikassa Afshartous, also known as Marlow Talley, 39, of Reston, Va., was charged with sexual assault and solicitation of child pornography.

Authorities said their investigation, which began in June, revealed that Talley had at least one sexual relationship with a female athlete under the age of 13.

Loudoun County Sheriff Michael Chapman said the child was victimized long before that, News4’s Erika Gonzalez reported.

“When you start talking about the technical capabilities of folks these days and there was something that would indicate that he was definitely involved in the solicitation of child pornography,” he said.

The victim broke her silence when she couldn’t take anymore, authorities said.

“Our information is that it happened for an extended period of time and that after that happened she had felt so bad about it that she communicated that information to a relative who then relayed it to her mom,” Chapman said.

Talley was a coach and trainer at Claude Moore Recreation Center, Georgetown Day School, and the now-closed Hoop Magic in Chantilly and Fairfax Stars.
