NBC Chicago – A 4-year-old girl was shot in a drive-by shooting Sunday night in a car on Chicago’s Northwest Side, police said.

The girl was struck around 10:30 p.m. while riding in the vehicle with her older brother and a 20-year-old friend at Irving Park Road and Central Avenue in the Portage Park neighborhood. Her brother and the friend were hurt as well, family members said.

Police said the car was traveling down Central when a gray car pulled up and opened fire. At least seven bullet holes were spotted on the side of the car when it stopped in a 7-Eleven parking lot.

The girl’s family told the Chicago Sun-Times she was wounded in the thigh and should be OK. Both men were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
