NBC News — Dignitaries, survivors and families of the victims of 9/11 gathered today at Ground Zero for the dedication of the the National September 11th Memorial Museum.

President Obama offered sympathy and hope to the victim’s families.

“Those we lost live on in us, in the families who love them still, in the friends who remember them always and in a nation that will honor them now and forever,” Mr. Obama said.

“In the years to come, the 9/11 memorial museum will take its place alongside the fields of Gettysburg, the waters of Pearl Harbor and the Vietnam Memorial,” former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg remarked.
