Former WWE champ turned action hero Dwayne “The Rock'”Johnson has been vocal about wanting to play a DC superhero on the big screen.

Over the weekend, he may have let cat out of the bag.

While promoting his new movie Hercules, Johnson was asked about his involvement in the upcoming DC movie expansion and which character he would be interested in playing.

The Rock, an avid comic geek himself, told Total Film’s Josh Winning that he won’t be playing John Stewart, the only black Green Lantern. Johnson also compared his ideal superhero to Clark Kent.

“There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce really soon that I’m going to play,” said Johnson about his future in the DC Universe. “And…I’ll just say this. He has the power of Superman. He can throw down and…just say the word.”

Just say the word?

If you follow the Justice League comics, a principle member of the team is Captain Marvel, aka Shazam. Shazam’s real identity is orphaned teenager Billy Batson, who can call on the powers of the Greek gods by saying the word “Shazam.” An interesting way to end an interview, Rocky.

If this is true, Grio fam, are you excited for The Rock to play Shazam? Check out the interview and let us know what you think in the comments below.
