A former castmate on the 2000 MTV reality series Real World has resurfaced as a singing YouTube chef.

David Broom, best known for singing “Come On Be My Baby Tonight” on the show, is now using his singing “talents” to form a following on the popular video sharing site.

Broom, who changed his name to Tokyo Niyeli, sings sexually-charged recipes and offers his take on popular foodstuffs like apple pie. Broom changed his name because his friends began calling him “Tokyo” due to a fondness for anime and other aspects of Japanese pop culture.

In an interview with VICE, Broom said the inspiration behind his Chef Showtime act came from mashing up his two loves music and cooking:

“I’ve decided to put my musical skills — so to speak — and my love for cooking into a creative outlet. Because I’ve been with MTV for so long and I’ve been in the music industry, I know now that I don’t want to be an artist. I just want to enjoy music and [enact] whatever creativity is truly in me.”

Broom produces, directs and creates all the recipe songs himself, according to the description boxes found beneath his videos.

In addition to the YouTube videos, he also works for MTV in Chicago.
