Coroner Robert Edge made the announcement shortly after the 10:45am discovery, reports PIX11.
The boy and his mother, Tabatha Morrison, were visiting the child’s grandmother in Little River, SC, from their home in White Plains, New York.
As soon as the boy went missing, his father, Andre Morrison, traveled to SC to help in the search. Hundreds of volunteers, first responders and police began searching for the boy when he was reported missing Wednesday evening.
The child was special needs and could not talk. He was also unfamiliar with the area.
