Solange's friend, business partner in critical condition after being stabbed 10 times

On Wednesday evening, Solange Knowles’ friend and business partner, Armina Mussa, was stabbed 10 times in the St. Roch area of New Orleans. Mussa, who also served as one of Knowles’ maids on honor, is in critical condition.

Police have since arrested Arronesia Christophe, 26, and charged her with attempted second-degree murder.

According to police records, when Christophe was arrested at the location of the stabbing, she told police that Mussa had attacked her and that she was acting in self-defense.

Christophe claimed that she was visiting a high school friend when Mussa, who lived in the home, yelled at her to leave. “We’re just friends, why do I have to leave?” she reportedly said before grabbing a knife and telling Mussa to “get back” and “please back away.”

Mussa continued to yell at Christophe, and, according to Christophe, Mussa began punching her and dragging her by her hair to the ground. That’s when Christophe says she began swinging the knife.

Christophe claims she was not aware that she had actually stabbed Mussa, because of the hard punches being thrown at her, until Mussa stepped back and said, “You stabbed me.”

Mussa, who is the project director of Saint Heron, Solange’s artistic and creative branch, and a co-owner of the French Quarter boutique, was rushed to the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries. Her wounds have been described by NOPD as “potentially fatal.”

A rep for Solange said that the singer was in Los Angeles for a Coachella event at the time of the attack but immediately flew back to New Orleans to be with her friend. Sources told NOLA.com that Knowles did attend a hearing for Christophe Thursday afternoon and appeared ‘very concerned.’

Christophe remains jailed at the Orleans Parish Prison on a $50,000 bond.
