Sister Act is coming back – again.

Disney will remake the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Veteran writers Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah (Legally Blonde, The House Bunny, She’s the Man) have been tapped to write the latest chapter in the Sister Act franchise, which originally starred Whoopi Goldberg.

The original Sister Act’s massive success — grossing over $232 million worldwide — spawned a 1993 sequel that helped launch the careers of stars like Lauryn Hill.

Alli Shearmur, the producer of last year’s live-action hit Cinderella, will produce the remake.

It’s unclear if Whoopi Goldberg is in any way attached to the project. The film’s plot details remain under wraps.
