Prince to donate proceeds from peace concert to NAACP, two Baltimore youth programs

The Baltimore Sun reports the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics and the city’s YouthWorks and OneBaltimore programs will get the money. The amount of money to be donated wasn’t disclosed.
On May 10, Prince performed a wide range of hits and his new song, “Baltimore,” a protest anthem for the death of Freddie Gray, who died April 19, a week after he suffered a spinal injury after being arrested and transported without a seatbelt by Baltimore police.
On May 7, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the OneBaltimore initiative as an effort to address the city’s problems.
