Jay Z's Tidal set to donate $1.5 Million to Black Lives Matter and other charities
On Friday, Tidal, the music streaming service spearheaded by Jay Z, announced its intention to donate $1.5 million to the Black Lives Matter movement as well as to other civil rights groups and charities.

The New World Foundation will be distribution the grants from Tidal to the Black Lives Matter movement as well as to New York: Million Hoodies, Hands Up United, NY Justice League, the Oscar Grant Foundation and the Trayvon Martin Foundation.
“The process of acquiring recommendations [for nonprofits] was collaborative and inspired by the message that speaks to racial and social inequities and injustice in our society,” Roc Nation’s managing director of philanthropy, Dania Diaz, told Mic. “Each year we will support a different initiative. Our ideology is to have a hifi level of consciousness in everything we do.” The charities will receive the money later this month.
