High School janitor nails Sam Cooke cover with school orchestra

Roy Smith, who is a janitor at Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska, took the stage along with the school orchestra in order to absolutely slay a Sam Cooke cover while the kids accompanied him.

Roy Smith, who is a janitor at Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska, took the stage along with the school orchestra in order to absolutely slay a Sam Cooke cover while the kids accompanied him.

Smith, who often sings in the halls of the school, performed “A Change Is Gonna Come” with the kids, and when student Alex Gaeth posted the performance to Twitter, it went viral, even nailing him a slot to perform at the Democratic Nebraska Caucus.

“I’m like that every day,” Roy Smith tol ABC News. “It brings joy to the students. The ones that are down and out, I give them something to cheer them up.”
