Men get 10 years for raping woman on Florida beach in front of bystanders

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Two men, both former students at Alabama University, have each been sentenced to 10 years for raping a woman in Panama City Beach, Florida, in broad daylight and in front of hundreds of bystanders.

It was during spring break 2015 when 23-year-old Ryan Austin Calhoun and 24-year-old Delonte Martistee sexually assaulted the woman.

Both men were convicted of sexual battery by multiple perpetrators. On top of getting prison time, each has been officially designated a sex offender.

As the trial wore on, the jury had to watch several different videos showing the men fondling the woman as she was incapacitated on a beach chair. Other spring break vacationers did nothing but watch the scene unfold. And record it.

The woman thinks she may have been drugged and does not remember much of what happened.

This crime, along with several others in the same year, has led to new spring break-related laws.
