While promoting her new Lifetime film Love by the 10th Date, Meagan Good shared her thoughts on America’s newly inaugurated 45th president Donald J. Trump, who she acknowledges is still “a child of God.”

“I’m just going to pray for him. At the end of the day, he’s still a human being,” Good tells theGrio. “I don’t accept and I’m not OK with a lot of the stuff that has gone on, but he’s still a human being and a child of God.”

Still, Good admits she is “bummed” that President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s time in the White House has come to an end after eight years in office.

“They are such an incredible couple. They are an incredible married couple. You can see that they’re equally yolked. You can see that there’s mutual respect. It’s not him in front of her, it’s him and her side by side,” says the 35-year-old actress.

“They’re such a beautiful example of what marriage and partnership is. As president and First Lady they are so classy, and so hip and awesome. They’re just cool. I’m grateful to have been old enough — and young enough — to appreciate everything that they stood for and stand for.”

Good is taking a political stand herself as she gears up to star in a reboot of Pam Grier’s 1974 blaxploitation classic Foxy Brown on Hulu.

“I’m excited because [Foxy Brown] was an advocate for the people. In a climate like this right now where so many of us feel like we’re getting the short end of the stick, we feel like there’s nobody to defend what we really want,” Good says.

“I wanted to make a creative contribution. I can do PSAs or speak out… but I need to DO something. Creatively this is my gift, and the platform that God’s given me, so thought I’d like to have a vigilante for the people. Something people can watch and get that wishful fulfillment.”
