Trump rally supporting travel ban draws only 8 supporters

Donald Trump supporters in Portland intended to get other supporters of his travel ban to show up in force--but only eight people showed up.

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

A group of Donald Trump supporters in Portland, Maine, intended to get other supporters of the president and his recent travel and immigration ban to show up in force.

Instead, only eight people showed up.

The local CBS station WGME spoke with one of the supporters on Saturday, who said, “I’m just kind of letting you know there’s another side to the story. Letting people know [Trump] has an awful lot of backers behind him.”

The supporter, Doug Prevost, probably didn’t mean for his statement to ring so horribly ironic when he gave it.

In contrast, there was a rally a few days earlier against Trump’s ban, and that one drew an estimated 1,500 people.
