Salma Hayek reveals Donald Trump once asked her out

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Salma Hayek recently appeared on The Daily Show, where she told host Trevor Noah that she had turned down Donald Trump when he tried to ask her out, even though he knew that she had a boyfriend at the time.

Hayek explained how she met Trump at an event she was attending with her then-boyfriend, who she did not identify in telling her story but who, she admitted, was not the man who would become her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault. She recalled that he was “so charming” and “so nice” as he talked with the two of them.

“He’s like, ‘If you guys are in New York, you can come to Atlantic City, you can stay in my hotel. Give me your number!'” Hayek recalled. “Never talked to my boyfriend again. Now he’s calling me and he’s inviting me out, and I say, ‘What about my boyfriend? Am I crazy, are you asking me out? You know I have a boyfriend.'”

But that wasn’t going to stop Trump, who insisted, “He’s not good enough for you. He’s not important, he’s not big enough for you. You have to go out with me.”

Hayek continued to turn him down, and she went on to tell Noah that she believes the fact that she spurned his advances prompted Trump to plant a story in the National Enquirer making fun of her height.
