Newborn twins and their two-year-old sister were left orphaned when their mother died of an infection from a C-section on the same day that their father was buried.

Stephanie Caceres was just 27 when she died of the infection on Wednesday, at the same time her boyfriend was being buried. She had given birth to twins on July 14. The twins were named Jevaughn Jr. and Lailah, according to the Palm Beach Post.

On July 11, Jevaughn Suckoo, their father, had been shot dead outside their home. The shooting was labeled as a homicide, though it is not clear if police have made any arrests relating to his killing.

Just days after the murder, Caceres, who was also raising their 2-year-old daughter, Kailanie, gave birth and then spent 10 days in the intensive care unit because of an infection.

“We’re just trying to figure out how to move forward from here,” Suckoo’s aunt, Joni Saunders, said.

GoFundMe page was set up by Lina Niemczyk, Caceres’s office manager, to help raise the three children, and has, as of Monday afternoon, reached over $105,000, surpassing its $100,000 goal: “We are all devastated, heartbroken and at a loss for words for all 3 of these children who will grow up never having gotten to truly know their parents.”
