“Talbert was the victim of a random act of violence. He was a hardworking, passionate artist and dancer that will be deeply missed,” said Cali Swag District’s publicist Greg Miller.

The Inglewood, California based Cali Swag District is best known for their billboard chart topping single “Teach Me How to Dougie.” The hip-hop song revolves around the “dougie” dance, which consists of casual shoulder leans and elbow twists. Just weeks ago first lady Michelle Obama brought the dance to a whole new, national audience. Mrs. Obama performed the dougie along with other moves from Beyoncé’s “Move Your Body” video, as she danced with students at Alice Deal Middle School in Washington D.C.
