NBC local Detroit affiliate WDIV-TV is reporting that Aretha Franklin has pancreatic cancer. This comes just weeks after her surgery and a week after a prayer vigil was held in her honor.
‘The Queen of Soul’ had surgery in late November at Detroit’s Sinai-Grace Hospital. She said the surgery was successful.
“The surgery was highly successful,” Franklin said. “God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country. God bless you all for your prayers!”
Last month, the music legend canceled all of her concert dates and personal appearances through May under the advice of her doctors.
