From The Los Angeles Times:

Watchdog group Common Cause said on Friday that for at least five years Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas neglected to report his wife Virginia’s income from a conservative think tank on financial disclosure forms.

Between 2003 and 2007, longtime conservative activist Virginia Thomas earned $686,589 from the Heritage Foundation, according to a Common Cause review of the foundation’s IRS records. Thomas checked a box labeled “none” where “spousal non-investment income” would be disclosed.

Virginia Thomas’ employment at the Heritage Foundation was well known at the time. She’s also been actively involved with the group Liberty Central, an organization she founded to restore the “founding principles” of limited government and individual liberty.

Justice Thomas also reported spousal income as “none” in 2009. Common Cause contends that Liberty Central paid Virginia Thomas an unknown salary that year.
