Reverend Jesse Jackson has organized a march to promote the need for recovery and reform in places still ailing from the automobile crisis. The march is set to be in Detroit this Saturday, August 28th, 2010, a date that marks the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Rev. Jackson’s objectives are to have Congress end the wars in the Middle East and redirect funds toward creating jobs in impoverished communities.

“We must have a real commitment here to revive manufacturing and put America back to work, but Detroit is ground zero of the urban crisis,” says Jackson. “President Barack Obama did a great job in stopping the hemorrhaging of our economy.”

“We march here on Saturday morning with a focus on jobs and economic justice, student loan debt forgiveness, and peace.” says Jackson.
