Chaos broke out on a high school football field in Georgia when players, fans and parents rushed the field turning into an all out brawl involving about 100 people.

A fan shot the incriminating footage, shortly after the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes defeated Wilcox County in a scrimmage.

“It was like the whole team just rushed from where there, normally they would just walk down the line and shake hands but they just rushed toward us and chaos just begun,” says Denise Gaulden, the mother of one of the players

According to Gaulden she was at the game watching her son play for the Hurricanes and says everything started off great.

“First quarter was good, second quarter was good but at the end if the second quarter is when everything got a little rough,” said Gaulden. Then things went downhill.

“The field was swamped, they really were like bees on the field so you really couldn’t see who was hurt and all the parents were trying to makes sure their children were okay,” Gaulden continues.

“You see players, parents, coaches even onlookers jumping the fence and running out into the field it was pretty confusing,” said the Investigator Patrick Hogan who was working security during the game. “I didn’t see the first fight or anything that was any indicator that something was going to happen. It just came from nowhere, I really don’t have a clue what started that.”

There were even reports of shots fired down the street from the game, which only led to even more confusion.

Onlookers say the brawl only lasted for a few minutes before everyone was cleared off the field.

The Sheriff and the chief of police are set to meet with school administrators to review video of the brawl.

Officials with the Georgia High School Football Association say that they are waiting for a written report from the principal on what exactly happened.
