An armed robber was beaten down by one of his victims in a Florida sandwich shop Sunday evening after the store manager realized the gun he was being threatened with was empty.

The 16-year-old gunman walked into the Miami Subs sandwich shop Sunday evening and ordered two employees to go to the safe. He was holding a revolver. After the employee and store manager Steve Lebrun opened the safe the robber pulled the trigger.

Lebrun heard the click of the empty gun and leaped into action, grabbing the revolver and savagely beating the man.A customer in the restaurant also got involved and the two were able to hold the robber until police arrived.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for stitches before being arrested and charged with armed robbery.
