Ten-year-old Karma Bridges, the daughter of famous rapper Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, is the CEO of Karma’s World, an educational website she created with her father last year.
Upon clicking onto Karma’s World, a colorful amusement park appears, with Karma’s voice encouraging users to “hop on a ride and visit one of my magical lands.” The site offers entertaining lessons for children in grades 1 to 6 in math, English, science, geography and etiquette, featuring games, books and original songs performed by Karma. On the site, children can learn about the seven continents, self-esteem and even try their hand at crossword puzzles.
Karma Bridges is making history … along with her father through the creation of Karma’s World, a free site that engages students in critical subjects using innovative technology. At just 10 years old, Karma is making a name for herself by developing her own brand.
What’s next for Karma?
Karma, who is in third grade, is continuing to work on her new site — and her father said there is no limit to where they can take it. “I want a Karma’s World theme park. Disney won’t be anything once people see where we’re going to take this. We’re laying down a movement where education can be valued,” he told theGrio in December.
In their own words …
“She’s the CEO and I’m her vice president,” Ludacris said during his interview with theGrio. “And this is her own product. As a parent there is no greater reward than to teach your children. As a young black girl especially, this is a great opportunity to work on being financially stable and to use her brand to allow further opportunities.”
A little-known fact about preschool education …
More than 40 percent of 3-year-olds and two-thirds of 4-year-olds were enrolled in a preschool education program in 2005, an increase from decades past, according to the National Institute for Early Education Research.
