Villains on HBO's 'True Blood' wear Obama masks
It’s nothing new for films and shows to depict criminals wearing rubber masks of former presidents of the United States, but in an interesting twist, on Sunday night’s episode of True Blood, HBO chose to have the villains don masks of the current president — Barack Obama.
It was an exceptionally odd choice, considering the recent controversy involving HBO and the depiction of former president George W. Bush’s head on a stake on their popular fantasy series Game of Thrones. After public outcry, HBO edited the episode and removed the Bush heads.
According to Deadline, an HBO spokesperson said, “It’s a complete and utter coincidence and one show has nothing to do with the other.”
