Last week on the day after Thanksgiving, 45-year-old Marvin Webb of Girard, Kansas decided to dress up as Tyler Perry’s infamous Madea character and rob a bank, according to News Channel 3 Memphis.
The Madea look-a-like attempted to rob First Security Bank in Robinsonville, but was caught by police after his surveillance camera picture circulated around the community.
Police coined the investigation “Operation Madea” because of the suspect’s resemblance to the movie character. Webb wore a woman’s scarf, coat and carried a handbag during the robbery attempt.
Witnesses say they knew the suspect was a man because he looked like the comedic big screen character. Webb was arrested in Crawford County and will be moved to Tunica to face charges.
Webb is also a person of interest for the robbery of a grocery store that occurred back on October 30th.
