Television reporter Charlo Greene had had enough.
Following a report on the Alaska Cannabis Club during Sunday night’s newscast, Greene revealed she was no longer interested in working for her station KTVA — and promptly quit live on-air.
Greene’s other shocking revelation? That she was the owner of the Cannabis Club and would now focus her talents full-time on legalizing marijuana in Alaska.
Her full remarks are below:
Now everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f**k it, I quit.
It’s a moment tailor-made for YouTube.
Greene told the Alaska Dispatch News she apologized if she offended anyone, but “not for the choice” she made.
According to its website, the Alaska Cannabis Club “does not distribute marijuana,” but connects “medical marijuana cardholders in need with medical marijuana cardholders with green.”
Got it.
Early Monday morning, KTVA’s news director Bert Rudman issued an apology to viewers via the station’s Facebook page:
We sincerely apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter during her live presentation on the air tonight. The employee has been terminated.
