Darren Wilson, the Ferguson police officer who shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown, may resign from the police force according to CNN.
Wilson has been negotiating his resignation with city officials, and while he still maintains that he did nothing wrong, he plans to resign if the grand jury hearing his case indicts him. Wilson says his resignation will help to protect his fellow officers and ease tensions.
Wilson may announce his decision on his resignation as early as Friday, when a St. Louis grand jury will meet and possibly come to a decision on whether or not to indict him. Wilson claims that he does not want to resign before the decision because he fears it would look as though he were admitting his guilt.
