Giuliana Rancic is feeling the wrath of black Twitter after saying what many are calling racist remarks about 18-year-old singer/actress Zendaya during last night’s Fashion Police Oscar recap on E!.
While critiquing Zendaya’s Oscar red carpet look, Rancic commented on Zendaya’s choice to wear her hair in dreadlocks saying, “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil or maybe weed.”
Zendaya took to Twitter and Instagram with her passionate response to the Fashion Police co-host’s comments.
Black Twitter has swiftly come to the defense of Zandaya, slamming Rancic for her harsh remarks.
I'll take @zendaya for 200 Alex 👏👏👏👏👏 😘….cause that was HARDLY funny fashion police💺 https://t.co/URGuJQqW7Y

When Kylie wore Locs you went crazy but when it's Zendaya wearing it gorgeously you dare to say her hair smell like weed? @GiulianaRancic

Rancic clarified her remarks in a statement on Twitter, but at this point that might not be enough to put this fire out.
Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!
