Alex Johnson knew what he was doing.
And it was all in his plan that his girlfriend Brey Dorsett had no clue.
Johnson, affectionately known as “Superman” to his friends and family,  plays professional basketball in Canada for the Saint John Mill Rats. On Wednesday, he set up an epic surprise marriage proposal that looked like a scene straight from Love & Basketball.Â
Playing 1-on-1 in front a gym full of teammates and friends, Johnson takes Dorsett to the basket twice for an early 2-0 lead. On his third drive to the hole, Johnson goes down with an “injury.” He clutches his right leg near his shorts pocket.
A few friends rushes to his aid, while Dorsett stands over him, unsure of how to react.
