Apparently, lots of folks asked BET to bring back its raunchy music video show Uncut.
After initially denying rumors of the show’s return, the network announced this week the show is coming back.
Yes – Uncut is officially back.
The show which left no backside unturned from 2001-2006 during the late night hours, had been canceled because of its proximity to softcore pornography.
Everybody remembers Nelly’s “Tip Drill” video. It’s become something of legend.
It was pretty much an orgy at a mansion televised. What was taboo in 2003 has become more commonplace today.
There’s no shortage of NSFW content on social media and primetime TV. Simply put, the landscape for what’s raunchy and racy has changed. Surely BET execs are banking on folks understanding this and not protesting the controversial content.
We’re not so sure this one will last.
Uncut returns officially on BET next week. Get your popcorn ready.
