A woman has named Rick Ross in her lawsuit against his bodyguard, who she claims drugged and raped her.
According to the suit, the woman had been looking to work for Ross and was invited by bodyguard Thaddeus James to ride with him and Ross in the back of a van on the way to a marijuana convention, the Daily News reports.
Following Ross’ performance at the event, the woman rode back to LA with the men. During the ride, James offered her a drink. She accepted the offer but allegedly “turned away” while it was poured. The woman claims that the drink was drugged and that she then became “disoriented” and was rushed to James’ hotel room.
When she came to the next morning, she was in James’ hotel room, her clothes were in disarray, and alleges she found evidence that she had been raped and sodomized. She asked two of her friends what she should do, and they both separately told her not to go to the police because she had no clear memory of the event. But after talking to family, she decided to come forward.
The suit also names Rick Ross and claims that Ross and his music group “fostered an environment in which drugs and rape were not only tolerated and condoned but encouraged.”
Ross responded to the lawsuit, telling TMZ:
It has been brought to my attention that serious allegations have been made against an independent contractor, who’s services I use often. And while I am not directly involved or implicated, as a man and a father, I take this very seriously. I don’t believe any woman’s safety should be compromised and she should never be forced to do anything outside of her will, regardless of the circumstances.
