Video of an Indianapolis man dancing on the roof of a burning home lit up social media Monday night.
According to WRTV, the man, 25-year-old Matthew Russ, allegedly stole his girlfriend’s car and crashed it into a nearby pole. Police were then called to a home on Layman Avenue about a barricaded subject. Upon arrival, police found Russ in the driveway with a knife.
Russ retreated back into the home, only to reappear with the knife on the home’s roof. Police used rubber bullets to try to get him down, and he went back inside.
Russ then reappeared on the roof, and news crews got video of him dancing on the roof as smoke billowed out of the home. Authorities believe he set the home on fire.
He eventually dropped the knife, police used an ariel ladder and a taser, and he was taken into custody.
As he was taken away on a stretcher, Russ could be seen smiling.
