Cam Newton’s swagged out end zone dance (aka the Dab) has been hot topic lately, especially after a disgruntled mother wrote a shady letter to the Charlotte Observer voicing her discomfort with it.

Newton became the subject of faux-controversy, featured on shows like ESPN’s First Take and several other programs the remainder of that week.

But why?

During highlights of the Chiefs-Bills game, ESPN host Robert Flores noted that tight end Travis Kelce danced in the end zone, “Hitting the Quan.”

Flores wondered aloud why no one was criticizing Kelce’s dance in the endzone. Was it because Kelce is white?

He shared:

I wonder why there are no letters to the editor, or why “First Take” is not doing “Should Travis Kelce be dancing in the end zone?” Wonder why they’re not doing that? Oh, because he’s not black. That’s probably what it is.

He took it there! Talk about a bloop to your regularly scheduled commentary.
