It’s clear President Obama isn’t pulling any punches in 2016, and we are here for it!

Tuesday, Obama and Vice President Biden appeared on NBC’s Today show hours before Obama was to give the final (and much anticipated) State of the Union address of his presidency.

When asked if he could envision Donald Trump making his own State of the Union speech as president someday, POTUS couldn’t help making a joke at the GOP frontrunner’s expense.

“Well, I can imagine it – in a ‘Saturday Night’ skit,” Obama quipped, referring to NBC’s late-night comedy show Saturday Night Live. “Look, anything’s possible. And I think, you know, we shouldn’t be complacent.”

Biden, on the other hand, seemed a bit more worried about the real estate mogul’s chances of making it to the Oval Office.

“He is divisive – I think he’d have to acknowledge that he’s very divisive – and that’s not healthy,” Biden said. “We always do best when we act as one America. We always do poorly when we appeal to our fears and our differences.”

The president also rejected the overall message Donald Trump has capitalized on in his campaign.

“I’m pretty confident that the overwhelming majority of Americans are looking for the kind of politics that does feed our hopes and not our fears,” Obama said hopefully. “That does work together and doesn’t try to divide.”

“The message that Donald Trump’s putting out has had adherence a lot of times during the course of our history. You know, talk to me if he wins. Then we’ll have a conversation about how responsible I feel about it.”
