11-year-old lands deal to distribute original lemonade with Whole Foods

Mikaila Ulmer, the 11-year-old who launched BeeSweet, a flaxseed-based lemonade that uses local bees' honey, has just landed a multi-million dollar deal with Whole Foods to distribute her lemonade to 55 different locations.

Ulmer got the idea to launch BeeSweet when she had her own encounter with a bee and decided to research the creatures. She discovered that they were in danger of disappearing and decided to do something to spread the word.

“Last year, beekeepers lost 40 percent of all their hives,” Mikaila told NBC. “Bees are dying.” She quoted Albert Einstein who said: “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left.”
