According to a CBS Chicago report, 16-year-old Shaquan Allen died of “asphyxiation due to restraint.”
Davis and Serak initially told investigators all three slipped on some water after a struggle. Authorities later determined this story wasn’t true.

The facility, Allendale Association residential treatment center, is meant to help boys and girls with behavioral disabilities.

Investigators say the 16-year-old became unconscious after a brief struggle. Davis had the teen by the throat and Serak was holding his legs, according to CBS Chicago.
