Two employees charged in teen's death at 'troubled' youth facility

Two men have been charged in the death of a 16-year-old resident of a troubled youth facility in Illinois.

Authorities say facility employees James Davis and Justin Serak lied to investigators about what caused the teen’s death.

According to a CBS Chicago report, 16-year-old Shaquan Allen died of “asphyxiation due to restraint.”

Davis and Serak initially told investigators all three slipped on some water after a struggle. Authorities later determined this story wasn’t true.

The facility, Allendale Association residential treatment center, is meant to help boys and girls with behavioral disabilities.
