D’Angelo brought the house down Tuesday night.
The soul singer delivered a rousing Prince tribute performance on the “Tonight Show,” with some help from surprise guests Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum.
D’Angelo sat at the piano and did his best cover of “Sometimes It Snows in April” and it was stunning.
Rudolph and Liebrum are part of a Prince cover band called Princess.

D’Angelo switched up some of the lyrics too, singing “I often dream of heaven and I know that Prince’s there.”
The timing was perfect.
