The 21-year-old said she was in fear for her life when she began recording the interactions with the city groundskeeper.
“The universe was spinning,” Milho said. “I thought he could do basically anything to me. I felt my power was stripped away from me.”
Milho had been doing community service for Honolulu’s parks and recreation department in exchange for expunging her criminal record. For the first four days, she cleaned bathrooms, but on the fifth day, she had a different supervisor.

The man drove her out to an isolated park and pinched and slapped her buttocks, telling her that she could go home early if she performed oral sex.
All the while, he bragged about other hookups, including a young mother who he described as “the best I had in a long time.”
Milho said that she remembered Philandro Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, recording his death and decided to do the same.
“I do watch the news,” Milho added. “I saw one lady who Facebook-Lived her boyfriend’s death. I just did it.”

Castile’s death made national news when the aftermath of the deadly police stop was recorded live.
Milho’s video got nearly 200,000 views on Facebook Live before she took it down over hateful comments.
“I took it down because I was getting so much backlash,” she said. “People were saying it’s my fault. People were making fun of the situation. I wasn’t comfortable being a punchline to something serious that happened to me.”
“I didn’t expect it to go viral,” Milho said. “What people don’t get is that I did it for my own personal safety, as proof. I didn’t expect people to share it and share it and watch.”
