Marking the 5 year anniversary of the death of Mark Duggan, U.K. Black Lives Matter activists protested in the streets of London and other cities across the U.K. Duggan was a 29-year-old black man who was shot and killed by London police in August of 2011. Following his death, the country saw five nights of violent riots. The U.K. Black Lives Matter group states that black men in their country are unfairly targeted by the British law enforcement.

Although small in number, the protest blocked a roadway to London’s Heathrow Airport. Another protest blocked the passageway to Birmingham Airport, while Nottingham protesters laid across tram tracks.
