White House releases Melania Trump’s official First Lady portrait
On Monday, the White House released Melania Trump’s official portrait as the First Lady of the United States.
Both Michelle Obama and Melania Trump have shifted away from the traditional painting medium for portraits for the First Ladies. Lady Bird Johnson was the only other First Lady to use a photograph for her portrait, while all the other First Ladies have had paintings commissioned.

The revelation of Melania Trump’s official portrait marks a shift toward more of the traditional roles of the First Lady after Mrs. Trump has recently raised eyebrows in seemingly distancing herself from the goings-on at the White House.
