A Florida teacher was caught on camera kissing a 1o-year-old student.
According to WPEC-TV, Brian Kornbluth, who teaches at Somerset Academy in Boca Raton, was seen in any empty classroom at the school sitting at his desk before the 10-year-old boy approached, put his arm around the teacher’s neck, and kissed him.
Prior to the incident that was captured on camera, another teacher had reported that Kornbluth was making “unusual requests” asking that certain students be moved to his class. In response, the principal had cameras, which were already in place at the school, repositioned so that they faced Kornbluth’s desk, leading to the video being captured of the kiss.
Last week, Kornbluth pleaded guilty to simple battery and is no longer teaching at the school. He must stay away from the student as well.
“Understandably, many folks have been asking about why we released a video in the ‘teacher-student kissing case.’ The short answer is because the media asked for it and we have to release it,” Chief Dan Alexander said in a statement posted on Facebook.
“We didn’t just put it out there to spice up your Tuesday. Some folks in the media think it is important for you to see it, so we follow the law to the best of our ability.”
