On Tuesday, Prince Harry, Barack and Michelle Obama, and Chance the Rapper kicked off the inaugural Obama Foundation Summit, which aims to inspire the leaders of the next generation to reach for something better.

But while they were getting ready for the summit, Michelle Obama and Prince Harry also made time for a surprise visit to some Chicago high school students at Hyde Park Academy, which is right across the street from where the Obama Presidential Center will be.

The two of them stayed for about an hour to discuss with 20 students in a roundtable discussion what the presidential library could mean for the students in the South Side of Chicago.

“The warm and wide-ranging conversation, lasting over an hour, covered how the Obama Presidential Center will showcase the South Side of Chicago for a global audience, the importance of young people staying inspired and hopeful, and the transformative power of students using their voices to change the world,” said Caroline Adler Morales, the former first lady’s communications director.

The former first lady reportedly wanted to bring Prince Harry to the school in order to showcase the leaders participating in the foundation and also to show the visiting prince the surrounding community that they were serving.
