Wendy Williams says Beyonce’s National Anthem performance was as bad as Fergie’s fail

We all know that Beyonce thinks her haters are corny so she might as well add Wendy Williams to the list after the talk-show host bashed Bey saying that she nor Fergie can hold their own singing without autotune.

After Williams returned to her hot seat following a hiatus from recovering from flu-like symptoms, she dished about Fergie’s off-key crooning of the National Anthem at the NBA All-Star Game this weekend. Williams said the Black Eyes Pea singer needs the help of autotune and she threw Beyonce under the bus too saying that Bey also needs autotune support.

“There are only a few people who can sing raw dog,” the talk show host said on Tuesday, Feb. 20 episode of “The Wendy Williams Show.” “And Fergie is not one, she needs autotune. [Jennifer] Lopez needs autotune, Janet [Jackson] needs autotune, Beyoncé needs autotune.”

Clutch the pearls!

Williams then added that the only singers who could belt out the anthem “raw-dog” are Adele, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warrick, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. They “need nothing,” she said.

The BeyHive quickly clapped back in disagreement.

“Wendy Williams just said Beyoncé needs autotune, and the only real singers are Adele, Aretha, Celine, Dionne, and Mariah,” someone tweeted. “I’m so confused. Clearly so is she.”

“Something is wrong with Wendy Williams y’all,” another said. “We need to stop acting like she’s okay. She thinks Beyoncé needs autotune. That’s crack-ish.”

“Wendy Williams said Beyoncé needs autotune,” someone else tweeted. “I don’t take anything that woman says seriously. She has been doubting Beyoncé’s success and talent as an artist for YEARS. Besides that, Wendy doesn’t even seem right in the head these days. She needs to keep Beyoncé out her mouth.”

Fergie’s fail

Fergie’s lackluster performance had everyone talking and even sparked a #FergieChallenge where people were pretending to sing Fergie’s version of the National Anthem, while adding in ridiculous dances and a music-mix comparable to a DJ Khaled mix-tape jam.

Fergie has since apologized telling TMZ: “I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”

But Mariah Carey, who has been known to flub a song or two of her own on national TV, said to TMZ, “Darling, nobody needs to listen to that,” when asked about commenting on the Fergie controversy.

In other words, Fergie should shake it off!
